Avnor: Privacy policy
What happens to your information when you use Avnor, the notes app. In short, your notes stay on your phone.
Effective date: November 2, 2026
1) Who we are
Avnor is made by Epigrams Platform Ltd, trading as Epigrams Platforms, based in Lagos, Nigeria. For privacy questions or requests, write to hello@epigrams.co.uk.
2) Your notes stay on your phone
Everything you write in Avnor is saved on your phone: notes, checklists, photos, files and tags. You don't need an account, and we don't have a copy. We can't read your notes, and nobody at Epigrams can see them.
Search, and finding words in photos of documents, also run on your phone.
3) What leaves your phone, and only when you choose
- Backups and exports. When you save a backup or export your notes, Avnor makes a file and hands it to you. Where it goes next is up to you: Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, WhatsApp or anywhere else. Backups aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere you trust.
- Daily backup on Android. If you turn it on, Avnor saves a backup file once a day to a folder you pick on your phone.
- Problem reports. A problem report is a file listing what the app did and any errors, so we can fix problems. Avnor only makes one when you ask, and it only reaches us if you send it. It can include note titles or other text that appeared in an error, so look at it before you send it if that matters to you.
- Contacting us. If you message us on WhatsApp or by email from the app, we see what you send, your number or address, and the app version Avnor adds to the message. We use it to answer you and to fix what you report.
- Imports. Files you import from Evernote, Apple Notes, Google Keep or elsewhere are read on your phone. They aren't uploaded anywhere.
4) What we don't do
- No ads, and no advertising or tracking companies in the app.
- No selling or renting your information.
- No usage statistics sent from the app. Crash details are kept on your phone, and only reach us inside a problem report you choose to send.
5) Paid sync
Avnor may later offer paid sync between your devices. It isn't available yet. If it launches, this policy will be updated before it does, to say what sync stores, where, and for how long. Sync will be optional, and notes that never leave your phone stay that way.
6) Children
Avnor isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
7) Your rights
Your notes are on your phone, so you're in control of them: you can export them, back them up or delete them at any time. Deleting the app deletes the notes on that phone, so save a backup first if you want to keep them.
For anything you've sent us, such as a message or a problem report, you can ask us to show you what we hold or delete it. Write to hello@epigrams.co.uk and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in Nigeria, you also have rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
8) Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will be explained in the app before they apply.
